What You Do in the Fish Bowl 3
And the final one! Here is the 3 all together as they were sold:
Doing this in Flash was a fun and interesting experiment as I've never used the program for a project quite like this. Vector is always interesting to me because I love a painterly style so much, my first instinct is to straight out paint a drawing, but I like how these turned out so I may do more images like this.

What You Do in the FishBowl
Part 1 of 3 of a series. Sold some of these as prints and the triptych this past weekend at a writers conference which was a lot of fun! This woman came about a couple weeks ago in a dream I had. :l The other 2 images will be uploaded later this week. (Gotta spread out the updates!)
The original sketch was in Photoshop and the rest was completed in Flash.

Praying for SciFi
Howdy howdy howdy!
Recently 'finished' (as if paintings are ever done, am I right?) up this painting and wanted to share! I could probably dump another 10 hours into this but I got to the point I was spinning my wheels a bit.
And a gif of a few process shots - I meant to take more. O: Will try for more next time.
The original sketch was in pen done in my little moleskin. It didn't really change that much from the sketch, just small details and adding details to her floaty hair things, hands, face, helmet, where her corset thing comes up to. Praying For SciFi - a blue alien lady.

New Character Work
Hey Folks!
Spent some time working on some character stuff so wanted to share what's ready right now:
This character is based off the original sketch I did last year for my November Draw Everyday.
Close up -
Aaaaand just something fun.
Check out www.amberanimation.com which got a tiiiiny facelift already. (Just the main page to give a fast overview of what's new, really.)

Not my style paintings?
I wasn't sure I was going to post these or not but I think they are kind of interesting. I've been trying to 'paint out' some things lately and a fresh style helps. It's pretty fun, but it makes me miss painting with real acrylics.
A note about each painting:
"this girl" - Sorry about yellow and purple boobie! O:
"Lady in Yellow" - It was difficult for me to leave her face like that. I feel like it works better than anything more I would have done to it... and I liked that it unsettled me.
"Plague Doctors" - I thought this would be cool to try with the loose style/1 brush mode I've adopted for these.
"Lady in Purple" - Was the first one I did. Also, sorry if it just appears as a black blob on your screen. It shows up a nice purple on my cintiq but DARK on my secondary crappy screen that was rescued from the trash for me to use.

It's a new year
Hope everyone had a fun time ringing in the New Year. It is now 2012, as crazy as it sounds. 2011 passed in a ferver of excitement and deadlines. I did more reading in the past year than I had since I think grade school, and I feel better for it. (: I just started reading A Feast for Crows today, and I cannot wait to read more later tonight. (AFFC being the fourth book in A Song of Ice and Fire aka A Game of Thrones for you tv viewers)
Alsoooo, yes! This is my 100th blog posting. It seems like such an astronomical number when I think about all the entries that had to be made, but I suppose my updating every day in November sketch-a-thon really helped P:
I like where this little character sketch is going.. she looks like she would be amazing to animate. Trying to learn flash... I find it irritating for the most part. B:

Tonal/Lighting/Contrast

This was done a little while ago during a night of no rest. >:
I included all the different sizes because I think they all work in different ways. I really like the smallest one actually. I was trying to play with lost and found edges as well as go really dark almost like it was emerging... It's actually not as dark as I intended it to be but I figure going from monitor to monitor there are probably people who can't even see it in it's current state P:

Well, day 30. There ya go, I made it! Mama Mary is a simple happy woman who loves to bake and dance at the same time. Figured I would end this draw-a-thon off with a happy figure of celebration!
For the next few weeks I have some scheduled updates planned cause I don't really know for sure if I will have access to internet much, if at all, but I still wanted to share some other little things I had been working on over the past little while.
At the time of this posting I will be well on my way to Florida!! O:

Cindy is a walked all over young woman that lives by herself in a tough neighbourhood trying to make it on her own merits in a highstress working environment. Naive and simple in the ways of the darker side of life.

Kitty is a 'late 20 something'. I imagine her to be the star of some romantic comedy where the lead freaks out about getting older and fat and in a last ditch effort has a hilarious day at the beach because she is so fat and is wearing a bikini but then her husky likable all man's man crush comes to swoop her off her feet. Also, she's kind of fat. :l

This giant guy is Thoros. He is like a giant mix of a tiger and the cheshire cat. Never trust Thoros, especially if he is smiling.

This guy has been dancing around in my head for the past couple of days and I just thought he would work perfectly for this little illustration I'm hoping to have enough time to fully mock-up before I leave for Florida on the 30th...

This is feather fingers. He can be a little bit too intense when talking about his favourite movie, Jurassic Park, but dinosaurs are really important to him.
